Aan de vooravond van zijn 500ste sterfjaar komen meer dan dertig tekeningen van Leonardo zelf en evenveel werken van tijdgenoten en navolgers naar Haarlem. De bruiklenen zijn afkomstig uit collecties van over de hele wereld, waaronder van de Uffizi in Florence, het Louvre en de Royal Collection in Windsor.\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Heel Teylers Museum in het teken van Leonardo\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In de tentoonstelling zijn drie voorstudies voor \u003Cem>Het Laatste Avondmaal\u003C\u002Fem> te zien, waaronder het portret van Judas. Teylers Museum wijdt een speciale ruimte aan deze wereldberoemde wandschildering, die uiteraard niet kan reizen, maar als replica op origineel formaat (4,6 x 8,8 meter) te zien is. Leonardo was niet alleen kunstenaar, maar ook een grenzeloos nieuwsgierig uitvinder en onderzoeker. Hoe zou deze homo universalis naar de fossielen, gesteenten en instrumenten uit de collectie van Teylers Museum hebben gekeken? Ook Leonardo’s fascinatie voor anatomie komt in een speciale presentatie aan bod.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Echte mensen\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Leonardo da Vinci was de eerste kunstenaar van de Renaissance die ‘echte’ mensen gebruikte voor zijn Bijbelse taferelen. Zijn apostelen, engelen en Mariafiguren zijn vaak gemodelleerd naar mensen uit zijn directe omgeving. Echte mensen met echte emoties. Nieuwsgierig als hij was, onderzocht Leonardo de meest uiteenlopende types.
