'A completely new experience.'
'Stylish, beautiful, exciting.'
'This is the festival The Hague needs.'
Just some of the enthusiastic reactions confided to initiators Uniquole and Hoogsteder Museum Foundation by visitors to the crowded Masterly The Hague festival.
SPOT ON
Presenting contemporary designs alongside historical paintings turned out to be a huge hit. Hip fashionistas, posh Hague residents, young parents with their progeny and students all came to feast their eyes in the three urban palaces on Lange Vijverberg these last four days. In the magnificently styled theme rooms, sixty designers told about their new creations full of passion and inspired by their muse. Rembrandt, Ruysdael, Amalia van Solms, Anna Paulowna and many other royals and Old Masters have never been so successfully brought to life.
Festival extension to three additional locations
Masterly The Hague presented an innovative crossover which appealed to the imagination of both art and design aficionados. A second festival in 2019 looks inevitable. An extension to include three new locations in The Hague’s museum quarter is on the cards.
