AMSTERDAM, 17 June 202 - The Netherlands is providing its position as Europe's ideal start-up climate, thanks to its low corporate tax and accessibility in the European market. Germany is particularly trumped by the interesting tax climate, according to a survey during TNW 2022.

Thousands of startups   gathered on Thursday at The Next Web Summit in Amsterdam, where Edward Snowden,  among others,  could be admired as keynote speaker.

Although Great Britain has long   been lord and master as a  start-up ecosystem in Europe,  the participants of the survey indicate that it  has become a lot less interesting to use the take the first steps on the UK market .

'I recognize these results, also among the traditional SMEs entering the Dutch market', says Yuliya Postma, Managing Director of Bolder Launch, which presents itself as a startup facilitator at TNW Summit.

She continues: 'International SMEs who reach out to Bolder Launch with concrete plans to establish themselves in Germany,  regularly shift their focus to the Netherlands, as soon as they have a  get a complete overview of the tax consequences.'

One of the startups that has taken concrete steps to set up a branch in the Netherlands is the Brazilian firm Five Validation. The CEO, Silvia Martins, explains: 'We have made the choice to settle in the Netherlands due to the fact that EMA (European Medicine Agency) has moved to Amsterdam as a result of Brexit'.

Peter Brouwers of Breda Startup Awards recognizes a clear trend: 'Local startups are not hold back by local laws and regulations. They simply want to get started. But international startups that  want to enter the European market see the  Netherlands as an ideal springboard. For this reason,  we increasingly see international startups taking their first steps in Breda and  other Dutch cities.'
