Welke verworvenheden willen we behouden?

PRESS RELEASE

Doors outside Dutch Parliament reveal the impact of Dutch investment in global health

On 5 November, the Dutch Global Health Alliance and SRHR Platform invite Members of Parliament and journalists to open physical doors to the results of Dutch investment before entering the parliamentary debate on Global Health.

What is behind the door - and what is at stake?

Behind each door, visitors will discover a story, image or result showing what Dutch support for global health and sexual and reproductive health and rights makes possible. The installation brings the people and experiences behind policy decisions closer to those making them.

As funding for international cooperation comes under pressure, the Dutch Global Health Alliance and SRHR Platform is drawing attention to the results of these investments and the consequences of potential reductions. Which achievements do we want to protect? And what role can the Netherlands continue to play in supporting accessible healthcare and stronger health systems worldwide?

Taking the conversation beyond Parliament

At the installation, MPs can discuss these questions with representatives from the Dutch Global Health Alliance and SRHR Platform. They will also be invited to share why global health matters to them in a short filmed interview. These interviews will be shared through the organisers’ communications channels only with participants’ consent, bringing the conversation to a wider public.

Members of the press are welcome to visit the installation and cover the encounters. The doors offer a visual and accessible starting point for reporting on the Netherlands’ contribution to global health, on the day Parliament debates the issue.
