Accelerating the transition to transparent and circular waste management across Europe
Seenons and Junkbusters are joining forces to strengthen circular waste management across Denmark, Sweden and Germany. Junkbusters, a Danish-born waste management company operating in these three markets, with deep expertise in construction and demolition waste, will become part of the Seenons Group.
The merger brings together two independent, asset-light waste management companies with complementary strengths. Together, Seenons and Junkbusters combine full-service waste management, local expertise and tech-enabled solutions to help organisations reduce waste, increase circularity and gain greater transparency into their waste streams.
Strengthening the Nordics while expanding into Germany
“By joining forces with Junkbusters, we can serve our customers in Denmark and Sweden even better,” says Joost Kamermans, Co-founder and CEO of Seenons. “And Germany has long been an important market for many of our international customers. Junkbusters brings the local knowledge, construction waste expertise and service quality we need to grow there. Their pickup reliability and customer focus are truly exceptional.”
For customers and partners of both Seenons and Junkbusters in all three countries, continuity comes first. Day-to-day operations will remain unchanged, and both organisations will continue to work with their existing teams and trusted ways of working while the integration takes place gradually over time.
Over time, customers will benefit from the combined strengths of both companies, including additional digital capabilities, IT expertise and greater insight into waste streams, circularity performance, CO₂ emissions and reporting that supports ESG ambitions and CSRD requirements.
For Steffen Rasmussen, Founder and CEO of Junkbusters, the match was just as clear. “Seenons stood out because we share the same business model, the same ambition and the same belief that waste management can be made simpler, more transparent and more customer-focused,” he says.
Building Europe’s leading independent waste platform
The partnership marks another step in Seenons’ ambition to build Europe’s leading independent platform for transparent and sustainable waste management. Following earlier expansions into Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland and Sweden, Seenons continues to scale its European network, supported by investors including Fortino Capital and Invest-NL, who share Seenons’ belief that impact and commercial success go hand in hand, and that major societal challenges are solved by building strong companies with healthy business models.
Both investors believe that reducing waste and accelerating circularity requires solutions that combine technology, data and strong local execution. This acquisition reflects the type of mission-driven growth they are committed to supporting.
